When we started Beulah Valley Farm, we knew we weren’t getting rich quick. Farm work is hard work. Farm work is expensive work (especially when you’re doing it in a sustainable, healthy way!). There are probably a million easier ways to get rich. And we are by no means anywhere close to it. Our motivation is in nourishing our family and community with healthy, chemical-free food and connecting with our community over one of the most basic needs of life- food.
We knew we wanted to make our produce accessible to all. Healthy, local food shouldn’t be limited to just the upper classes. Health should be available to everyone, and we wanted to make sure that our community had that opportunity. When our community is thriving, we all thrive!
Are we being too idealistic? Is this dream sustainable? These are questions that we toil over. But we know that change doesn’t happen until we take the leap. We believe in the story of a little boy who gave up his meager lunch to feed 5,000 people. Of a poor widow who gave the last of all she had to a cause she valued, and we believe that we have a God who can supply all of our needs. So, we are leaving the money problem up to God and we are joyfully carrying out what we enjoy doing most-feeding people!
We are excited for you to join us in this gracious economy of generosity! Whether you’re able to contribute the full amount or a portion that fits your budget, you’ll receive the same high-quality, seasonal produce grown right here on our farm. We ask you to thoughtfully consider where you are financially in this season of life and decide what you can afford. If your situation changes, let us know. We want to work with you.
